Job Opportunity: Credit Authorization Analyst in Montreal, Canada

Are you a detail-oriented professional seeking a dynamic, hybrid role in the financial industry? We’re hiring a Credit Authorization Analyst to join our team at a leading financial institution in Montreal. This hybrid position offers a flexible schedule of three days in the office and two days working from home. Note: Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada; we do not provide sponsorship.

What You’ll Do:

• Review and interpret credit approvals to understand the approval process and translate it into the bank’s quantitative data model.
• Analyze executed loan documentation, focusing on the credit agreement to identify borrowers, products, amounts, maturity dates, and sub-limits in alignment with credit approval.
• Evaluate closing requests from the Front Office/Middle Office, ensuring consistency with the executed loan structure and compliance with credit approval.
• Model the signed structure in the worldwide authorization system (BMA) to align with credit approvals and reduce risk.
• Maintain data quality of authorizations, enabling other departments to accurately monitor client exposure and trigger alerts for anomalies.
• Oversee record maintenance of authorizations, including renewals, increases, decreases, refinancing, extensions, and annual reviews.
• Investigate and address anomalies from the modeling of signed documentation in the authorization system.

What You Bring:

• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate credit approvals into the bank’s quantitative data model.
• Familiarity with commercial products such as commitments, term loans, delayed term loans, and revolving credit facilities.
• Effective communication skills to explain authorization structures and documentation to supervisors and operations risk control teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or experience in commercial back office, administration, or analysis of commercial transactions.
• Proficiency in English (additional language skills are a plus).
