Employment and Education Centre Looking for Addictions/Mental Health Counsellor at Leeds, ON Full Time

The main focus of this position is to provide specialized counselling (Biopsychosocial – Modality), treatment, education and support services to individuals, and families. The counsellor helps clients to understand and address substance abuse and related problems arising from Trauma, including family dynamics, and lifestyle changes. Fully knowledgeable of the 12 Core Functions in Addiction Counselling. Addiction Counselling Certification will be required. CCAC and or ICADC.

The counsellor is expected to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals within the organization and to establish and maintain partnerships with Doctors, Nurses, Psychiatrists and others that would be productive for the client’s recovery.

Conducting internal consultations and case conferences as required.

Developing and implementing the discharge plan following the protocol already in place.

To do follow up phone calls with clients and families.

Closing client files and giving the information to reception.

Regular and or random checks of client rooms.

This is a part time/full time opportunity with hours ranging from 20-35/week

Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
