THE OPPORTUNITY
We are in the process of recruiting a Human Resources Manager.
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and Administration, the Human Resources Manager will implement, manage and maintain the Equality Fund’s human resources policies, programs and practices. The Human Resources Manager works as a generalist and business partner, provides coaching to staff and drives various HR projects and initiatives. This role oversees recruitment practices, retention, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, total rewards, and compliance.
SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for leading and managing full recruitment cycle
Develops and enhances EF recruitment practices by monitoring industry best practices
Oversees onboarding and offboarding and continually refines, enhances processes
Provides counsel and coaching on HR matters to staff including talent management, performance management, professional development, conflict management, HR policies and best practices
Acts as a trusted and respected colleague, resource and sounding board to all staff for people issues and challenges
Acts as a team and culture builder who values and instils justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout all EF policies and practices
Supports with development and implementation of compensation and benefits
Manages the HRIS and ensures data accuracy, prepares dashboards, reports and uses analytics to inform decisions
Assists the Director of HR in developing HR annual plan, strategy, and budget
Ensures EF is meeting all legislative employment requirements through regular audits; keeps up to date with changing legislation and implements new policies and practices when required
Conducts research and works with outside legal counsel where appropriate to respond to challenging HR/ legal matters (terminations, harassment etc.)
Leads staff training on various items such as health and safety, AODA, violence, harassment
Leads the health and well being initiatives across the organization
Leads the research, development, training and implementation of EF’s Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) practices, policies and responses
Leads the annual review of HR policies and employee handbook
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience with exposure to human resources policies and practices
Undergraduate degree in human resources or related field
CHRP or CHRL designation preferred
Knowledge of Ontario/ Canadian employment legislation (ESA, H&S, AODA)
Knowledge of PSEA an asset
Experience with governance an asset
Strong relationship management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups
Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage various projects, deadlines, and priorities
Ability to coach and mentor
Demonstrated high ethical standards and the ability to exercise discretion and tact with sensitive and confidential information and/or situations
Experience/ exposure to benefits administration and payroll
Experience working with an HRIS (BambooHR, SAP, ADP etc.) and recruitment tools
Proficiency in GSuite and Microsoft Suite
Commitment to the work and values of the Equality Fund, in particular the values of gender equality and shifting traditional power systems and anti-racist/ anti-oppressive practices
Bilingual French/ English considered an asset
