Maintenance Technician
Our client is an industry leader in Food Production, and they are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team at the South East facility in Calgary. This position is responsible for installation, repair and maintenance of packaging machinery by interpreting drawings, performing layouts, and assembling parts. Requirements include:
- Journeyman or Red Seal trade certification would be well-regarded
- 5+ years’ electrical and mechanical experience is preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in a production environment dealing with high-speed machinery is preferred
- Ability to read and troubleshoot operating manuals as well as other forms of written and verbal communication
- Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively, written and verbally
- Ability to interpret graphs, and perform basic math calculations like ratios and percentages
- Physically capable of standing / walking for entire shift, occasional climbing of stairs and frequently lifting up to 25 lbs
- Comfortable in an environment which includes regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, continuous and constant noise (hearing protection is provided)
- Complies with relevant safety regulations (company policy, WHMIS, wearing PPE)
- Available for the night shift of 9:30 PM – 6:00 AM from Sunday to Thursday
Responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs
- Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine control logic for machinery
- Assemble, dismantle, and move machines and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment
- Maintenance of equipment including cleaning, lubrication, testing
- Assemble and install equipment such as conveyors, pumps, motors, load cells
- Electrical installation as required
- Make appropriate recommendations to improve / repair machinery
- Complete maintenance work orders
- Other duties as assigned
