Ethier Sand and Gravel is looking for a Junior/Intermediate Accountant to provide support to the General Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and leverage your solid understanding of accounting principles to perform a variety of accounting activities for a growing construction group.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform full cycle accounting including job billing, AP, AR, bank reconciliation, etc.
- Assist with sales and pricing
- Inside sales and customer service when required
- Assist with analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet/clearing accounts
- Perform year-end and quarter-end processing – accruals, depreciation, eliminations, intercompany entries/payments, etc.
- Assist with monthly/quarterly reporting
- Prepare prompt payment reporting, follow up with stakeholders on collections
- Manage cash flow and perform monthly bank reconciliations
Job Qualifications
Education
- Post-Secondary education in Accounting or Finance (Designation or pursuit of designation is encouraged)
- 1-3 years of full cycle accounting experience is an asset
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience working within the construction industry is an asset.
- Effective attention to detail
- High level of proficiency with Excel
- Exposure to financial accounting systems and ERPs
- Willingness to take on ad-hoc tasks
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
