Exceldor Foods Ltd. Looking for Human Resources Co-op Student at Hanover, ON Full Time

Exceldor Cooperative is a poultry processing facility that is the exclusive manufacturer and marketer of BUTTERBALL branded turkey products in Canada. Exceldor Cooperative in Hanover, Ontario is currently looking for a dedicated and driven individual to join their Human Resources department.

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, The Human Resources Co-op is responsible for the assistance and support of all HR tasks for the Hanover Operations Centre.

Duties and responsibilities

• Create, edit, and post jobs openings on job boards
• Review resumes and assist HR team by scheduling interviews with the candidates, setting up interview rooms and greeting candidates for interviews
• Ensures the recruitment process adheres to applicable laws, policies, and collective agreements
• Prepare job offers and documentation for orientations
• Assist in filling and inputting new employee information on to the HRIS
• Respond to questions and inquiries from internal employees and external candidates
• Organize and maintain employee files on Training and Development
• Coordinate training sessions with external trainers and the operations team
• Assist in the tracking of Health and Safety initiatives
• Coordinates with other departments to facilitate the smooth operation of the business
• Assist in running regular reports and provide insights to HR team and operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Working towards post-secondary education in Human Resources Management
• Detailed oriented and resourceful self- starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and database applications
• Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
• Strong interpersonal skills with sound written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to handle sensitive issues in a professional manner
• Experience in dealing with the public, handling inquiries, and working in a deadline-oriented environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy is essential along with well-established organization skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities while recognizing priorities
