What you’ll do:
You will be responsible for the management of budgets, freight rate negotiation, route management, interaction and management of drivers, lease operations, and staff training and development. You will also oversee the dispatch and daily deliveries to retails and ensure customer needs are being met; you will provide advice and guidance to retails on freight options, training on main frame procedures, and investigation of shipping issues. You will ensure adherence to internal procedures as well as regulatory guideline compliance.
You will oversee daily deliveries to retails, and work with suppliers to manage return product. You will interview potential candidates for transportation roles and screen for competencies related to the role.
You will maintain routing files and create routing files for new accounts, amalgamations, and statutory holiday schedules to ensure proper freight rates are charged to retail, proper recovery to FCL is achieved, and deliveries to retail happen consistently. You will work closely with retails to resolve recurring transportation, loading, shipping, and ordering issues.
You will train new staff in the department to ensure a specific level of service is met and department procedures are followed. Retails will be provided with advice on freight options, training on main frame procedures, and investigation of chronic shipping/loading issues. Region and warehouse staff will be provided with training on warehouse procedures and will be provided with advice on freight issues and claims.

You have a Diploma in Business or Logistics
You have a minimum of 6-9 years of relevant progressively responsible experience. Experience in previous supervisory position and working with automated systems will be considered an asset (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
