Job Description
The Director of Talent & Culture will partner with the senior leadership team to transform the talent function, the recruitment, and the employee experience within the Studio. You will work to create a world-class experience where employees thrive in an exciting work environment, understand how to be successful and strive for continued excellence.
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of programs and systems to help hire, develop, engage, and retain a high-performing team. These programs will include performance management and recognition, ongoing learning opportunities and leadership development, Culture shaping and promotion activities, compensation administration, and internal communications.
Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring the completion and accuracy of payroll and benefits programs as well as reporting and analytics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and lead the talent management strategy including hiring, onboarding, performance management and total rewards
Manage the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring process to ensure the right talent at the right time to support the company’s business goals.
Manage the onboarding and offboarding process
Oversee learning and development including executive and employee coaching, continuous learning initiatives and training programs
Act as a trusted and knowledgeable advisor to the executive committee and all department leads with regard to talent planning, people-related concerns and policies.
In collaboration with external experts, handle the immigration needs for our employees and collaborators.
Define and clarify the roles and responsibilities of all positions and functions in the Studio
Act as the culture champion for the company; driving performance through employee engagement initiatives in collaboration with all other departments
Develop KPI and dashboards to help the management team to make the right decisions rapidly.
Manage daily activities including HRIS updates
Build positive and productive relationships at all levels of the Studio
Stay current and ensure the company’s compliance on all employment standards
Qualifications
A minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in a similar role
Experience in a creative, agile and fast-growing environment
Demonstrated success scaling a company and its culture in a high-growth environment
Demonstrated success building and launching people programs, specifically in acquisition, performance, development and retention of employees
Demonstrated success in sourcing and recruiting for a variety of roles at all levels including technical and non-technical skill sets
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect business strategy with Talent initiatives
Experience with difficult conversations and providing feedback and coaching to people at all levels of an organization
In-depth knowledge of provincial and federal employment legislation
Good judgment and business instincts
Bilingual (English and French)
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources, organizational development or a related field;
