We are recruiting on behalf of our client for the position of Maintenance Supervisor in Woodbridge ON.

Estimated Salary: $45-$48/hour

Responsibilities:

• Delegate and supervise labor utilization and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate important company information, such as production priorities, to staff.
• Address personnel-related matters and participate in resolving issues.
• Ensure proper scheduling, weekend coverage, and follow-up on breakdowns.
• Maintain effective and timely communication with group/team leaders.
• Assist shift mechanics and electricians in troubleshooting as needed.
• Participate in design reviews and APQP meetings.
• Manage critical spare parts inventory and initiate orders with approval from the manager.
• Collaborate with the manager on capital spending for major press repairs, equipment upgrades, and critical spare inventory.
• Contribute to performance appraisals, establish annual goals, and monitor workers’ safety performance.
• Encourage and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including predictive maintenance, to minimize downtime.
• Develop and execute equipment preventative maintenance schedules.
• Conduct safety talks or training sessions, address unsafe acts or conditions.
• Conduct weekly meetings to share lessons learned, project updates, brainstorming, and quality concerns.
• Plan workload for summer and winter shutdowns.
• Support the internal employee suggestion program.
• Foster a team-oriented work environment.
• Ensure comprehensive training for new employees.
• Support and endorse all safety-related initiatives.
• Maintain 5S practices and uphold good housekeeping standards.
• Ensure timely repair and return of equipment to production, meeting customer requirements.
• Maintain regular communication with the production department.
• Analyze historical data to assist in on-site faultfinding.
• Adhere to IATF 16949, ISO14001, health, and safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with all rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook.
• Fulfill any other reasonable requests from management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Industrial Electrician/Mechanic License or equivalent technical certification/diploma.
• Ability to effectively manage and motivate experienced maintenance personnel.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration.
• Proficiency in robotic applications and programming.
• Extensive knowledge of various production equipment, including stamping presses, injection molding machines, welders, robotics, and general assembly.
• Excellent understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic fundamentals and principles.
• Familiarity with PLC controlled equipment.
• Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to prioritize breakdowns, identify permanent solutions, and minimize downtime.
• Willingness to be on-call and delegate personnel during crisis situations.
• Well-developed organizational and time management skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to perform well under pressure.
