Fix Auto Sherwood Park Looking for Parts Technician Supervisor at Sherwood Park, AB Full Time

1. JOB PURPOSE:

The Parts Department Supervisor plays an essential role to the production team as they organize and coordinate all parts throughout the repair process. By ensuring all parts are properly ordered, delivered and distributed, the Parts Department Supervisor aids in customer satisfaction by keeping delivery dates accurate.

2. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Parts Department Supervisor is responsible for leading the parts process by supporting the Parts team in coordinating all parts around the shop. This includes but is not limited to ordering parts, checking parts for damage and accuracy, organizing parts in the parts room, pulling all parts for technicians, and ensuring all required parts are had for technicians. The Parts Department Supervisor will relay ETA’s to team members to retain seamless communication within the shop. The successful candidate must be highly independent, have strong attention to detail, be a team leader, and possess problem-solving, time management, and communication capabilities.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support Part Tech in damage control for arriving parts
• Receive notice that a job is passed out to a tech:
  • Ensure Parts Technician has delivered all parts to the tech and parts are correctly mirror matched
• Accept all parts invoices in the management system.
• Communicate with team members about any discrepancies on new and incoming parts and troubleshoot accordingly.
• Do regular checks (2-3 times daily) on jobs in process to make sure all parts have arrived.
• Order any supplemental parts or parts that were delivered wrong, keeping in mind insurance company guidelines
• Handle all returns/cores in a timely manner
• Lead the parts department in the seamless coordination of all related responsibilities

4. WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Employees may be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring personal protective equipment
• Employees may be exposed to dust, hazardous chemicals and high levels of noise
• Employees may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings; may have long combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting
• Repetitive tasks within a fast-paced environment
• Overtime as required

5. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma
• Related technical education
• Journeyman Parts Technician is considered an asset

EXPERIENCE

• Experience working in a parts technician/supervisory role
• Experience working with automobile parts in a related role is considered an asset

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

• Ability to work independently
• Ability to lead a team and efficiently problem solve
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 25 pounds
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
