A Day in the Life

• Complete take-offs/estimate for larger, more complex projects
• Follow up on single-scope and/or multi-scope projects
• Complete work orders & prepare material order sheets
• Provide mentoring and training to Estimators
• Attend pre-bid & post-bid meetings
• Act as tender lead on single-scope and/or multi-scope projects
• Maintain directory of product suppliers
• Prepare construction progress schedules
• Participate in initial handoff meetings and production meetings
• Negotiating contract price/award price with clients
• Attend meeting with project team to perform an Autopsy on the completed project
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers
• Order various estimating documents (bid bonds, insurance documents, etc.)
• Consult, communicate, and build rapport with internal departments
• Negotiate extras for all applicable revisions and prepare necessary documentation
• Coordinate the investigation and resolution of disputes, defects and back charges
• Follow-up with on-site problems with operations team
• Visit job sites
• Price all change orders for any active projects
• Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database (PIL)
• Quality and delivery of direct reports

What We Are Seeking

• Previous experience in construction, estimating
• Previous waterproofing experience is an asset
• Post-secondary education in a Construction program
• Ability to read specs and drawings
• Strong relationship building skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• Strong analytical, mathematical and problem solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail, organization and communication skills
