DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Manager, PMO Training, the Business Analyst is a member of the Employee Development Center (EDC) team, playing a key role with scoping, requirements gathering, schedule management, and writing communications in support of our Training Specialists and Stakeholders. This role works collaboratively with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to capture current and future state requirements to understand gaps and opportunities in support of establishing learning objectives. This role will logically and intuitively understand the end-users needs, breaking down complex processes into understandable information which can support training, reference material and communication plans for the training team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

• Provide analysis on data performance and flow, working with EDC teams and other groups as required to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Identify the root of business problems or inefficiencies by working with business leaders and subject matter experts during the scoping of training requirements for EPC Training Specialists.
• Collaborate with the FortisAlberta business leads and subject matter experts to create, update and maintain SharePoint document library material.
• Develop training plans with EPC Training Specialist and FortisAlberta stakeholders.
• Document, validate and develop FortisAlberta stakeholder processes and procedural documentation which will ensure compliance with internal and external performance requirements
• Assist in the design of business processes including clarifying and identifying issues and facilitating changes to attain the highest levels of control, compliance, customer service and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders regarding change management; this includes supporting training specialists where required and transferring knowledge for ownership as appropriate.
• Cultivate effective business relationships between the EDC team and FortisAlberta stakeholders including external end use customers.
• Complete daily operational processes as required.
• Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.

• Superior organizational and time management skills to manage numerous projects and competing demands.
• Ability to facilitate meetings effectively to capture comprehensive business requirements.
• Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SAP, Command Center, SharePoint.
• Ability to develop business cases, design and validate new processes, understand drivers for change, and articulate high level business requirements.
• General knowledge of FortisAlberta’s applications, business processes, and regulatory requirements, as they pertain to the Customer Operations area.

Qualifications we are looking for:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business, Commerce, Information Technology, or a related discipline plus a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a role whose primary duties include either business process improvement or business analysis.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

• Some travel with possible overnight stays is required.
