You take a customer-centric approach when supporting your peers, and you excel at identifying the best solutions to address the needs of employees. When it comes to improving processes, you know how to envision the big picture and translate it into long-term strategic innovation that continually offers the best service to employees. In year 1, you will:
Execute accurate and timely processing of benefits programs, follow established processes and policies and apply collective agreement provisions.
Verify the accuracy of benefits forms and online applications, and investigate and resolve processing errors.
Provide subject matter expertise relative to employee benefit programs to ensure our employees understand the value and flexibility of their benefit plans and how to navigate their benefits coverage through various life events.
Liaise with benefit carriers to resolve employee payment and claim discrepancies. In year 2, you will:
Provide support to designated initiatives and projects as required.
Recommend process enhancements with a focus on continual improvement, participate in system testing and monitor effectiveness.
Assist in employee benefit reporting, reconciliations and auditing. What it takes:
A certificate in Human Resources Management, or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist program plus two years recent benefits or HR-related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience administering traditional and flexible benefit plans, providing benefit orientations for multiple collective agreements, and knowledge of SAP platforms is considered an asset.
Fast and accurate data entry skills to maintain the timely completion of processes.
A confident and effective verbal and written communicator with strong customer service skills and a focus on discretion and confidentiality.
Excellent organization skills and adaptability to learn and excel in a fast-paced work environment and prioritize competing requests and inquiries while maintaining day-to-day responsibilities.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
