The opportunity:
We are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team of passionate professionals and leaders. Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager plays a central role in contributing to the success of the organization by strategically planning, implementing, and executing all human resources policies, programs, and practices. This role suits an HR professional who is passionate about seeing people achieve their potential and enjoys playing a central role in having an engaged and productive team. Finally, this role combines hands-on HR in a fast-paced growing company with the opportunity to evolve the HR function into a strategic partner in the coming years.

Here is what to expect in the first year
You will need to roll up yourselves and get to know the business by being involved in all aspects of the HR function as you work closely with the management team and employees.
You will be focused on recruitment of key positions and overall retention as our company continues to grow.
You will be refining a 3-year HR strategy and begin to operationalize it towards the end of your first year.
You will apply change management principles as you plan out a roadmap for integrating a greater degree of HR duties into the day-to-day responsibilities of the management team.
You will be continuing the development of our Recruitment Assistant.
Here are some of the major duties and responsibilities:
Talent Management: Manage and execute full cycle recruitment and selection. Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation process.
Performance Management: Coordinate and facilitate performance reviews. Work with managers and supervisors to effectively resolve performance issues including disciplinary issues, warnings and termination. Coordinate training with external providers.
Employee Relations: Investigate, address and resolve employee questions, issues or complaints. Develop and implement retention initiatives. Administer and analyze employee survey data.
Health, Safety and Wellness: Liaison with WorksafeBC regarding all safety requirements. Update safety policies and procedures.
HR Operations: Leave management, manage employee data, documentation and HRIS.
Training and Development: Oversee the development and execution of various types training and education programs – both hard and soft skills. Develop and deliver key HR related training and education to management and employees.
HR Strategy and Guidance: Provide advice, guidance, and assistance to management in the resolution of human resources issues, while ensuring adherence to company policies and legislation. Develop and implement a rolling 3-year HR strategy.

Selection Criteria:
Bachelors degree with a specialisation in Human Resource Management or equivalent
5+ years of progressive human resource management experience.
Guided by a high level of integrity and shows capacity to display diplomacy, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions with all team members.
Demonstrated experience dealing with sensitive, complex and highly confidential employee situations.
Effective and professional written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports, policies, procedures and company wide communications.
Demonstrated experience in change management.
Has the ability to multi-task and effectively determine priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interpret legislation, including familiarity with the Employment Standards Act and Workers Compensation Act.
Valid BC Drivers License (ability to travel to various sites in lower mainland).
Desirable
Construction industry experience.
Familiarity with safety legislation and managing WorksafeBC Claims.
CHRP designation.
Up to date knowledge of common law cases relative to employment law.
Location: Currently a hybrid model with office, remote and occasional site based work.
