You bring experience in managing complex transactional SaaS platforms, and you are passionate about Cloud Computing with knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP. You have prior experience as both frontend and backend developer for a web-based platform.

About the Role

This role currently will report directly to the CTO. We are building a full-service end-to-end SaaS transactional platform known as Foxden, and operate in Canada and the USA. The platform already has more than 10,000 configurations in place, and it is expected to grow exponentially.

Goals at Foxquilt:
The product offering will continue to expand across North America, both in geography and product diversification. It will involve lots of integrations with all varieties of partners. The platform will continue to experience explosive growth in functionality, scale, and complexity over the next five years. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be key to leading this ambitious expansion and also mentoring other Smart and Dedicated Software Engineers as part of this journey.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

• Directly report to the CTO

• Be involved in Software development, including specification, design, architecture, coding, testing, automation, bug fixing, code reviews, and DevOps.

• Develop and review Software Architecture, including high-level, low-level, sequence diagrams, and data models.

• Analyze runtime optimization, improve processes, drive faster delivery of features, improvements, and bug fixes with a special emphasis on enabling velocity

• Develop documentation for in-code, design, users, and other material as required

• Design, Develop, and Maintain software, including but not limited to new features & integrations, bug fixing, enhancements, automation, and updates.

• Partner with software engineers and business/product teams to drive roadmap execution, including testing & data analysis

Education, Experience, and Expectations

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in web development (frontend and backend)

• Minimum of 3 years of experience building, enhancing or maintaining any single transactional SaaS

• Proficiency in cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Prior involvement in platform development in SaaS-based environments

• Leading and mentoring other software engineers

• Recognized ability to meet project requirements and deadlines

• Extensive experience in Microservice Architecture and Development

• Strong experience in Event-driven architecture and (DDD) Domain-Driven Design

• Expert in NoSql Database & Data Modeling design and development

• Deep knowledge and expertise in CI/CD (Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deployment)

• Solid experience in Web App design & development, including Single Page Application (SPA), Virtual DOM, One-Direction Data Flow, etc.

• Our Tech stacks: AWS Lambda/API Gateway/S3/Cloudfront, with a MongoDB backend.

• Other tools: GraphQL, Javascript, TypeScript, Python, React, Node.js, yarn, and npm.
