The salary range for this position is CAD $52.59 – $75.59 / hour

Leads the strategic planning/design, implementation, promotion, evaluation and maintenance of required organizational practices and Ministry of Health directed clinical care priorities that improve quality care and patient outcomes across Fraser Health. Ensuring the promotion of excellence and the advancement of professional practice, guides clinical teams, physicians, and interprofessional health care providers through these required initiatives and leads the integration of process changes into clinical practice. Develops and implements strategies and processes that support these initiatives.
Provides leadership to clinical teams to enhance their understanding of required organizational practices (e.g. accreditation requirements, Medication Management) and works to embed new/changed practices into clinical practice across all sites and programs. Develops and implements strategies and procedures that support required organizational practices.
Promotes consistent care to our patients/clients/residents/families across sites, programs and professions by decreasing unnecessary variations in care practices through the integration and promotion of evidence informed best practice.
Monitors practice trends, identifies opportunities that promote innovation and partnership for improvement, and supports the consistent delivery of quality care. Ensures that effective processes are in place to assess practice and work flow related to these initiatives within all interprofessional clinical teams.
Guides clinical teams including nursing, allied health professionals, support staff, Pharmacy, and physicians through these clinical care priorities and works collaboratively to ensure the integration of process changes that are consistent with the initiatives” mandate.
Plans, leads and evaluates the infrastructure and processes for Fraser Health’s Clinical Policy Office (CPO); ensures Clinical Decision Support Tools (CDSTs), including policies, clinical practice guidelines, protocols, procedures, etc. are evidence-based, reflect leading practice and patient and family centred practice, and are linked to applicable resources such as patient education materials.
Provides leadership to ensure clinical policies and CDSTs are reviewed, approved, endorsed, stored, maintained and accessed through the CPO according to established guidelines; creates a prioritization system for new requests; ensures the avoidance of resource duplication; supports operational leaders through the development of clinical resources.
Collaborates with stakeholders and other health authorities/external organizations to to evaluate policies, guidelines and on-line tools that could be considered for use within Fraser Health, and to develop and evaluate objectives, performance metrics and outcomes.
Identifies risks to practitioners and/or Fraser Health associated with related practices; plans corrective action as required and evaluates outcomes of the actions.
Leads the implementation of change initiatives related to clinical care priorities, required organizational practices, and the CPO; assesses impact and evaluates outcomes.
Evaluates auditing tools that provide measurements of patient outcomes, clinical care priorities, required organizational practices; clinical policy; develops or leads the development of revised or new audit tools, provides feedback to various sites and clinical teams on audit tool effectiveness and results, and develops and implements plans for improvements.
Provides reports, updates and communications to senior leadership, executive sponsors, and Ministry of Health as required.
Provides operational management including recruitment, retention and performance management of staff and budget accountability for the portfolio.
Represents Professional Practice on regional, provincial and external agencies, committees and projects and fosters effective linkages with other organizations.
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in a health care related field plus a minimum seven (7) years of recent related experience in a complex health care environment including progressive quality practice, education, project management and leadership experience. Current practicing registration with the relevant regulatory college or professional association in British Columbia.
