We are currently looking to fill a Relief Full Time opportunity for a Mental Health Care Assistant, Tertiary Older Adult at Peach Arch Hospital located in White Rock, BC. This relief position is available to December 2024 or until return of incumbent.

Detailed Overview
Provides personal care and observation of patients with behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) / serious mental illness, as directed by the Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN), or LPN as required, using a person-centered approach. Works as a member of the interdisciplinary team to assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, laundry and organization; reports observations of patients’ conditions to designated nursing staff; facilitates patients’ participation in recreational activities; performs patient care tasks as assigned; accompanies patients on appointments and activities.

Grade 12, graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program, completion of recognized recreational courses plus one (1) year’s recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
