The role:
Reporting to the Manager of Content & Community, the Marketing Coordinator will help generate brand loyalty, brand awareness, and increased demand for the Fresh City family of brands. In this role, you will bring our brand and our mission of a better life through food to life.
This individual is focused on content creation that attracts new fans/customers and engages our existing base.
You’ll be assisting with upcoming marketing campaigns and the rollout and weekly features of new products/promotions.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be fun, creative, hard-working, organized, and a team player.
You’ll also be performance-driven and passionate about building online communities and relationships.
Responsibilities:
Define and create an organic social strategy for each of our brands, across each of our platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest & Twitter) + explore new platforms for expansion.
Grow the brand: Drive awareness and grow our audiences. Determine when a social post should be boosted with advertising dollars.
Turn customers into advocates: Create meaningful content and messaging to help move our audiences through a sales funnel – changing a lead into a customer and nurturing current customers to become more brand loyal.
Create on-brand, engaging and effective content across all communication channels including social, product descriptions, blog posts, newsletter writing & various site copy.
Improve customer retention: ensure quick response times to comments, encourage and share content, drive campaigns to encourage tagging, and create and identify surprise & delight opportunities.
Work alongside other members of the Marketing team on initiatives that drive brand awareness, and consumer demand, and result in sales growth.
Lead or assist curation projects that launch new products, services, and associated brands, specifically with product promotion on the site.
Weekly reporting on key performance indicators to ensure content plans are data-driven and optimized for performance.
Develop and execute concepts and plans for scalable marketing campaigns designed to drive the growth of Fresh City brands.
Assist in the execution of brand awareness initiatives consistent with business goals and objectives.
Research opportunities and report on the findings.
Work within project budgets and adhere to them.
Other projects and programs as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience:
A college or university degree/diploma in Media Studies, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Digital Media, or related is required.
Social media expertise on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and Twitter, including content creation on in-feed posts, stories, reels, and live events.
Lives and breathes all things digital, with a pulse on social trends.
Strong hands-on attitude with a get-it-done approach to project management.
A hunger and willingness to learn.
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships within our team, cross-functionally, with contractors, fans, and others.
Ability to work on multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including creative writing.
A natural team player who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of Google Suite products (Sheets, Slides, Docs, etc.).
Loves food and supporting locals.
Nice to have:
Experience with content creation including photography, filming, editing, and/or via apps like Canva.
Additional experience in online/traditional marketing or sales environment as an asset.
Knowledge of ethical marketing best practices and associated regulations such as AGCO and Canadian Ad Standard advertising guidelines.

Things You Should Know.
Our offices are located in North York at 53 Samor Ave and East York at 19 Waterman Ave – the marketing team is currently working remotely, you can expect to be required to come into the office at least once a month to attend Marketing and other project-related meetings.
