FreshCo Looking for Cashier/Cash Office (part time) at Kamloops, BC Full Time

Overview

Responsible for scanning grocery prices, accepting payment for purchases, and maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the front end.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Processes customer purchases by scanning/entering price into cash register, and obtaining and processing payment.

2. Maintains cash drawer by securing and controlling money levels in cash tray.

3. Provides customer service by greeting customers and responding to their inquiries.

4. Maintains appearance and cleanliness of front-end by cleaning and disinfecting, by stocking and facing magazines supplies and candy items on racks and by removing un-wanted items left by customers.

5. Performs other related duties as required.

6. Perform cash office duties including open and closing duties (select employees only).

Qualifications

• High School graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

• Good customer service skills

• Excellent mathematical skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

• Physical ability to perform duties assigned

• Ability and willingness to follow direct

Working Conditions

• Lifting weights of 10 – 20 kilograms (bags of dog food, potatoes, onions, cases of pop)

• Standing for long periods of time while at the cash

• Reaching and lifting of grocery items while scanning items (e.g., cases of pop, large bags of potatoes, dog food)

• Exposure to heat, cold and dust due to work location near store entrance/exits

• Exposure to chemicals used to clean conveyor belt, scanner and food alleys

Salary: From $15.65 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• Weekend availability

• Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
