The Opportunity
The Manager, Product is the primary liaison among business and technology stakeholders and is responsible for both setting and prioritizing the work of an agile development team and overseeing the work of additional Product Owners. The Manager, Product maximizes value by prioritizing and ensuring the most valuable features and enhancements of Fundserv’s products are developed for its members. They work with cross-functional teams and lead industry user working groups to identify business needs, gather requirements, manage product releases and represent the voice of the member within the agile development team(s). The Manager, Product will leverage their experience developing products with agile teams in discussions to define and standardize agile processes as Fundserv transitions to a product-based organization.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Product Ownership
· Serve as the voice of the member within the agile development team
· Work with internal and external customers to analyze the needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals.
· Own the product backlog for a portfolio of products and services.
· Lead user working group meetings to develop scope and define backlog items (epics/features/user stories) that guide the Agile software development team.
· Solve product-related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.
· Draft key performance indicators (KPIs) and track performance as a measure of success.
· Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product.
· Accountable for the full product life-cycle from launch, to ongoing enhancements, through to decommissioning
· Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.
· Act as an ambassador for the product(s) internally and externally and as the primary contact for queries related to the product(s).
· Develop appropriately detailed user stories for the product features so they are clearly understood by the development teams.
· Represents team in front of stakeholders, clients or users.
· Work closely with senior management in order to create a product that fits the company portfolio.
· Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level technical information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from actual underlying needs.
· Work with project sponsors to ensure requirements are aligned to business objectives.
· Perform cost-benefit analysis and help stakeholders make informed strategic and tactical decisions.
· Serve as a thought leader to identify and suggest improvements and define best practices and methodologies for Product Owner processes and activities
People & Department Management

· Direct the daily operations of the team, including establishing priorities, developing and maintaining high standards of delivery, ensuring access to the tools and resources, managing schedules and workload, and analyzing team workflow for improvements.
· Build and maintain a high-performing team, actively coach, mentor, and develop direct reports, manage team performance
· Participate in the compensation management process, manage the departmental budget, manage team vendors, ensure team’s completion of company-wide requirements
· Serve as a key member of Fundserv’s management team by attending management meetings, designing and implementing programs to support corporate values, and building strong relationships across all levels of the organization
Required Qualifications
· University degree (business or computer science) or equivalent work experience
· 5+ years Product Owner experience
· 10+ years investment fund or fintech industry
· Solid Understanding of Agile development methodology, ceremonies and processes
· Understanding of various requirements analysis and modeling techniques
· People management experience, or the proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop others
Nice to haves
· Investment fund industry experience working with manufacturer or distributor back office or transfer agency systems
· Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification
· Business Analysis experience
· Understanding of Fundserv business processes, service offerings, customer operations and standards
· Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
· API knowledge or experience
