The Training Specialist and Instructional Designer is responsible for delivering online/virtual training for both internal staff and fusionSpan customers. There is a possibility for future in-person training, but currently, all training is being done virtually. He/she will also be responsible for developing and updating training content for fusionSpan client implementation projects and internal training programs. This includes, but is not limited to, training videos, quick reference guides, online courseware, job aides, live training participant materials, slide decks, and other materials as needed. Training is a newer team within the organization, and although the team has some foundations already established, this person will help in continuing to build the foundation and direction of the training function.
The Training Specialist and Instructional Designer will work closely with the Director of Training and across departments to deliver, design, develop, and evaluate training courses to ensure structure, content, assessments, and metrics are aligned with defined learning outcomes and performance objectives.
The Training Specialist and Instructional Designer will also assist with the development of the online training curriculum, maintenance, and management of the learning management system (LMS). Specifically, working on building out our internal Onboarding program and transitioning learning content to our new LMS.
Responsibilities:
Become a subject matter expert (SME) in all functional areas of fusionSpan technology projects to gain the ability to deliver training and provide knowledge transfer
Research and test product features, functionality, and changes to determine the scope of edits for assigned areas of documentation
Partner with Delivery, People & Culture, RevOps and Subject Matter Experts to develop clear and concise documentation for a variety of audiences (internal staff and customers) and validate existing course materials
Assist with managing, running, and improving our New Hire Onboarding Program
Design lessons incorporating creativity, flexibility, and innovation in course design
Develop video scripts, storyboards, and record, produce, and edit training videos
Produce screenshots, flowcharts, and other graphics
Create required job aids, templates, and reference materials supporting the platform
Revise documentation to incorporate product updates and enhancements requested by customers and internal users
Assist with the development of curriculum for new courses
Assist with review and editing of new courses and content to ensure usability in a variety of platforms
Proofread and edit documentation to ensure consistency of language and style, as well as the correct application of templates
Understand business priorities and proactively look for ways to improve processes to create efficiency and scale
Interface professionally with stakeholders, business partners, and other internal employees and external clients
Perform other related duties as required

Required Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience as a trainer/instructor, teacher, or relevant related field
At least 2 years of experience in instructional design and courseware development
High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite or similar programs
Technical aptitude, ability to quickly learn how to use products, and enthusiasm for technology
Adept at communicating in a precise, clear, constructive manner to diverse stakeholders, subject matter experts, and community of learners
Skilled at developing training interventions, even when initial project requirements may be unclear and existing documentation limited
Proven excellent communication skills–verbal, written, and presentation
Attention to detail, with excellent proofreading/editing, writing, and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, amid varied, competing priorities
Must have an excellent work ethic, be a strong team player and consistently meet project deadlines
Some experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS)
Bachelor’s degree in Education/Training, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field preferred; or commensurate experience in lieu of formal education
Preferred Qualifications
Some experience with Salesforce CRM
Experience in the consulting field
Experience with onboarding and internal training initiatives strongly preferred
Experience conducting virtual webinar-based training strongly preferred
Experience in developing scripts, storyboards, and producing training videos; technology industry experience strongly preferred (Familiarity with eLearning development tools such as Camtasia, Captivate, or similar)
Candidates selected for an interview will complete an assignment in Teaching Demo.
