The Operations Support role is a dynamic position with four disciplines:

1. Health and Safety: Develops, administers, and implements regional occupational safety programs, and serves as the overseer for the occupational safety programs. Support internal and external core audit, and back to work initiatives.

2. Quality control: Work closely with Operations teams ensuring our sites maintain high levels of cleanliness by conducting site inspections. Using tools such as GDI Inspect to create formal reports; and becoming familiar with WesTech audits.

3. Recruiting: Participates in the recruiting of qualified candidates through online platforms and job fairs

4. Office support: Work with the office team to assist with the various duties such as monthly reports, expenses, filing, human resources, paperwork, etc.

Ethics and Integrity Specific Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring safety compliance at our sites, assisting with safety training, job site inspections and reporting.
• Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports, and recommendations.
• Research, plan, organize and conduct training programs/seminars for, with regard to WHMIS, Fall Protection, Orientation, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid, industry specific related issues, etc.
• Ensure the timely completion of accident/injury reporting to Corporate Office.
• Facilitate the COR audit process (internal/external)
• Coordinate inspections, investigations, and occupational safety activities with departments.
• Provide direction and/or guidance to less experienced occupational safety personnel.
• Audit operational performance with regards to safety
• Provide administrative support to the office team, particularly at month/year end.
• Ability to assist in the payroll process using Blue Force
• Conduct site inspections using GD inspect
• Assist in compiling of information to maintain ISO Standards and achieve certification
• Work closely with the Operation/ Sites Manager to oversee daily business operations.
• Liaise with different departments to improve performance and work efficiency.
• Attending to any correspondence and emails by customers, clients, and contractors.
• Ensure that health & safety policies are always followed, a safety mindset is critical
• This position may or may not include all the above responsibilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Fluency in English both written and oral is mandatory, and any other languages are an asset.
• You are a self-driven individual who works well both independently and in a team atmosphere
• Punctual and reliable
• Safety certification training is considered a strong asset, but we will provide training in such areas as COR and Return to work.
• Operational experience
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency with database applications and administration systems
• Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
• Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
• Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites.

• Travel as necessary.
