Genecis Bioindustries Inc. is a venture-backed start-up using patented technologies to convert food waste into biodegradable plastics. The Bookkeeper will report to the CFO. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Finance Team by maintaining, supporting systems, processes, and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare all month-end reconciliations, journal entries with complete backup in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare and support the financial statements, reconciliations, and reports in a timely manner including support of grant-related compliance reports on required frequency (quarterly or milestone-based)
- Prepare, evaluate, and assist with the accurate processing of monthly accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process the entry of accounts payable on a weekly basis, with matching to purchase orders and packing slips
- Process all corporate expense reports
- Review and track all corporate credit statements with approval and receipts.
- Assist with preparation of the annual budget, financial reporting, and cash flow projections as needed
- Interacting with management, customers, and vendors
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience of bookkeeping experience in a fast-paced environment
- College or university degree in accounting or combination of relevant experience and education
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles and leading-edge business practices
- Excellent professional communication skills
- Knowledge of Xero software would be an asset
