GeoComply Looking for Software Engineer, R&D at Toronto, ON Full Time

We are seeking a talented R&D Software Engineer to assist with the research and testing of new technologies, programming languages, products, or ideas. In this role, you will be working closely with multiple teams while creating functional design concepts and prototypes. You may also be spearheading the redesign of existing products as well as be involved in various M&A initiatives for the assessment of 3rd parties’ technology stacks.

What You Will Be Doing

Investigating and proposing new technologies, service providers and methodologies in order to improve the company’s products, systems, pipelines

Redesigning existing products to enhance functionality and performance or reduce costs

Creating design projects and specification sheets

Presenting product designs to management and stakeholders

Overseeing or participating in the engineering of component and system prototypes

About You

BS/MS degree in CS

Must have a minimum of 10 years of solid experience in software engineering

Must be a proficient programmer with experience in architecting and implementing high quality, large-scale enterprise-level software

Must have sound knowledge of Go, Scala, Rust, Python, and, desirably, PHP and JavaScript

Must be experienced with modern software development architectures, patterns, methodologies

Knowledge of and experience with the AWS and GCP cloud platforms is a big plus

A result-driven self-motivator, able to follow various software development processes

Good communication skills, ability to work well with teams of various cultures and geographical zones
