What responsibilities will you have in this role?

• Responds to student enquiries on procedures, policies, and course/program information. Resolves routine student and instructor complaints or problems with courses, classrooms, online courses, or other courses related issues.
• Assesses and processes students’ application for course credits; transfers and course exemptions or arranges for a faculty assessor for prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR).
• Reviews course outlines for accuracy and alignment with college and departmental guidelines and policies.
• Maintains and updates electronic files of current course outlines. Reviews course and program certificate descriptions for accuracy.
• Works with faculty and administrative assistants to ensure course materials are ready, and grades are posted in timely manner.
• Populate course shell and/or content in LMS and ensures links are up to date.
• Assists students in accessing LMS.
• Assesses student eligibility based on program admissions requirements where applicable.
• Monitors expenditures and invoices for selected departmental accounts.
• Cancels, adds, or amends classes based on enrolment, changes to schedules.
• Reviews, edits and changes course and program information and website content to ensure accuracy and currency.
• Maintains regular communications with industry partners and accrediting organizations to ensure that courses which lead to designations are current (i.e., I4Pl, Editors Canada).
• Contributes to course and program development. Shares student and faculty feedback and makes recommendations.
• Advises instructors on College and departmental policies and procedures.
• Provides publishing team information on classroom location for website posting.
• Ensures instructors have classrooms suited to their needs.
• Orients instructors to College facilities and resources, professional development opportunities.
• Prepares and submits all Offers of Employment through HR/Payroll.
• Guides applicants through the onboarding process of accepting contracts through Database and troubleshoots issues.
• Tracks the offer letters of employment from issuance to the supervisor/Chair approval through to teacher acceptance.
• Other related duties as assigned.

What qualifications do you need for this role?

• Three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in in education, Business Analysis or other related field.
• Minimum three years Experience in program design, development, and delivery in an online environment in an educational or relevant industry setting with specific experience in adult education.
• Must have demonstrated experience assessing PLAR and course exemptions, recruiting instructors, and issuing contracts. Experience with academic program and course coordination, including delivery and scheduling.
• Requires prior corporate training experience.
• Experience gained as a team player in an office environment using a variety of computer software packages such as MS Office and Student Information System databases (SIS).
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to establish priorities and make decisions within prescribed boundaries.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills to liaise with people at all levels from executives to entry-level students.
• Ability to manage numerous complex and demanding tasks and to meet strict deadlines.
• Adaptability to working in a technical environment in which technical terminology is frequently used.
• Discretion, sound judgement and a commitment to preserving strict confidentiality.
• Demonstrated commitment in delivering excellent service to others – key in supporting the success of our students and College.
• Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles.
• Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making processes.

Hours of Work: 11:00 am – 7:00 pm

Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
