GeoVerra Looking for HR Co-Op Student at Remote Full Time

We are searching for a HR Co-Op Student ready to dive head first into the world of HR with guidance from our fun and fast-paced HR team based in Edmonton, AB. This position will be involved in everything from HR administration to acting as a first point of contact for employee questions, and everything in between!

This is a temporary 12-month position ending May 2024. The successful candidate will be able to primarily work from home in Edmonton, AB and office visits will be required on an ad-hoc basis for team meetings.

Support the Human Resources team which includes, but is not limited to:

• Completing data entry in HRIS system, Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Acting as first point of contact for employees through the HR inbox fielding general questions about benefits, time off, and HR administrative questions. This includes triaging higher-level inquiries to the correct HR team members.
• Supporting the HR team with letter creation for employment verification letters, disciplinary letters, termination letters, employee change letters and more.
• Working on HR Projects including updating HR information on company intranet.
• Shadowing HR Team employee relations meetings, disciplinary hearings, and exit interviews.
• Assisting with recruitment administrative tasks as required; including but not limited to: drafting offer letters, job postings, scheduling interviews and candidate pre-screens.
• Creating and evaluating innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business.
• Other tasks as required.

• Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis and pursuing a degree or diploma with a specialization in HR.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with various computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Maintain utmost confidentiality when working with employee information.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team on various projects.
• Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high-degree of accuracy and professionalism.
