GeoVerra is seeking a Sr. Natural Resource Professional and/or a Natural Resource Professional located in Northeast or Central Interior, BC to join our growing Forestry and Environmental team. The successful candidate(s) will have a thorough understanding of provincial timber management policy and process, and harvest planning in the Province of BC. Field work may be required at our various client sites which can include shifts from 2-10+ days long and involve working outside in all weather conditions.

What you will do:
Lead and assist on range of timber planning & operations-oriented projects in the office and field.
Regulatory applications, permitting, technical writing, and report preparation.
Liaising with stakeholders, regulators, partners, and landowners.
Timber salvage and cruise planning, riparian assessments, clearing operations coordination.
GIS data creation, attributing, analysis, mapping and reporting.
What you will bring:
5+ years’ experience performing field work safely and efficiently throughout northern or interior BC.
Professional Designation in BC or eligibility as RPF or RFT.
Preferred experience in regulatory and landuse planning, stakeholder engagement, non-spatial old forest/OGA and THLB planning
Familiarity with timber cruising, license to cut, cutting permits, fibre utilization planning, waste assessments, timber tenure and licensing, stumpage & appraisals are an asset
Fluency with provincial GIS public data sets.
Experience in wildlife sweeps, surveys, and riparian assessments an asset.
Experience working within the regulatory frameworks of BCER/OGC an asset.
Technical writing, mathematical, scientific, and computer skills including Microsoft Office, ESRI GIS, & GPS / Field Maps.
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations.
Collaborative attitude, ability to excel in a team and independent environment.
Commitment to customer satisfaction through problem solving, critical thinking and decision making.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Superior attention to detail to produce professional deliverables & documentation.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace.
Job conditions
Home base location is flexible, but preference will be given to those within proximity to project sites in NE & Central Interior.
Out-of-town work (shift durations between 2-10+ days) and some travel may be required depending on project work.
Ability to carry, lift and push up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
