Job Description
The Global Reporting Centre is a journalism organization based at The University of British Columbia. We produce in-depth multimedia journalism, research, and teaching/educational resources in partnership with journalists and major media organizations from around the world.
We are looking for a part-time social media editor to create content for our social media platforms and contribute to our overall social media strategy. The successful candidate will play a key role in the GRC’s communications/audience engagement team, which aims to increase brand awareness, broaden our reach, and deepen our engagement with audiences. The right person for this role will be able to produce content quickly while prioritizing accuracy. They will be motivated to create high-quality public-facing assets that match the calibre of our journalism.
At the GRC, our mandate is global journalism, done differently — meaning we experiment with our approach to reporting. For us, the process of how we do journalism is as important as the finished story. The candidate for this position is someone who can tell the ‘story behind the story’ in a creative and compelling way.
This position reports to the Communications Manager.
