We are looking to recruit an ambitious candidate in a dynamic supply chain role as a Dispatcher at Goodfood on the Logistics team.
The Dispatcher plays an integral role in the route planning of thousands of orders and hundreds of routes in. This ensures a 5-star grocery delivery experience to Goodfood members every day.
As a Dispatcher you will act as a resourceful and confident team player who can think out of the box in an ambiguous problem space. This is a mission critical role that requires the ability to balance technical skills, planning, and operational execution in a highly demanding environment. A successful candidate is willing to roll up their sleeves to help support a rapidly growing business unit that is transforming Goodfood’s last mile delivery capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Own the planning of cost and time optimized routes for on-demand orders across the country to ensure market leading on-time performance
Ensure the integrity of data in our delivery systems of record so that cost and quality outcomes can be accurately measured
Support the resolution of on-the-road exceptions; including reassignments as necessary
Support continuous improvement of daily operations with your direct team and providing constructive feedback to Field Operations Team on a regular basis
Requirements (Skills & Capabilities):
University/College education, or prior success in a demanding business environment as an experienced professional
1-3 years of experience in transportation and logistics
Experience with ecommerce final-mile distribution and geographical knowledge of major Canadian urban markets
Comfortable working a non-standard schedule and able to support critical business operations including weekends and holidays
Detail oriented – You possess strong organizational skills and consistently demonstrate a methodical approach to eliminate all errors in your work
Comfortable in Excel – You have a proven ability quickly process data in spreadsheets (VLookups & Pivot Tables at a minimum) and existing tools; you are comfortable learning new technologies
Take pride and ownership — The individual is someone who takes immense pride and ownership in the activities they manage from day to day
Service and results oriented — You are proficient at identifying / solving or escalating logistics challenges and possess a bias to get things done and deliver results while functioning as part of a team
Ability to prioritize effectively, multitask and easily manage stress
Availability:
AM Shift: 7:00 AM start, 5 days/week
PM Shift: 2:00 PM start, 5 days/week
Flex Schedule: 2 PM shifts & 2 AM shifts per week
Nice to Haves:
French and/or South Asian language skills are an asset
Experience with Python, SQL, APIs, Looker, GIS and other tools are an asset
A passion for e-commerce, logistics, supply chain, and technology
