Trade, Investment and Food Safety Division (TIFS) The Trade, Investment and Food Safety Division expands and diversifies Alberta’s food and bio-product manufacturing sector in local and global markets while also providing effective food safety assurance systems.
Export and Investment Branch The Export and Investment Branch focuses on attracting investment to Alberta’s agri-processing sectors and expanding export opportunities for Alberta’s businesses. The Branch also designs and delivers Canadian Agricultural Partnership funding programs related to growth and value added development, and provides performance measurement and program evaluation services for the Division.
Investment Attraction and Evaluation Section The Investment Attraction and Evaluation Section consists of three units: the Bio-Industrial Investment Attraction Unit, the Food Processing Investment Attraction Unit and the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit. Within the Section, the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit supports monitoring, evaluation, reporting and marketing initiatives for the Division, including the development of performance tracking systems, business plan reporting and program review and evaluation. The position will provide direct supports to the Investment Attraction Units and the Export Development and Industry Grants Section, along with other initiatives related to the growth and diversification of the value-added agriculture sector.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Unit at Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation is looking for an individual to lead the development of plans, processes and data management systems to support the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the Export and Investment Branch’s progress towards strategic priorities and business plan outcomes.
The Performance & Evaluation Specialist engages in the process of continuous improvement, leveraging the findings from the evaluation process to develop and improve processes and systems. The incumbent will facilitate a culture of data management and reporting that ensures divisional programs and services increase investment and expand trade in Alberta’s agriculture sector, maximizing economic opportunities across Alberta.
The primary responsibilities of the position include:
A University Degree in related field, preferably in business administration, public administration or economics, and a minimum of four (4) years of progressively related work experience in program planning, delivery, performance measurement and reporting is required.

Preference will be given to applicants with advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Sharepoint, Lists, Power BI, Visio and PowerAutomate.
