About Our Opportunity
The Centralized Hiring Specialist provides strategic consultation, guidance, and assistance to SNS hiring managers throughout the selection and hiring process. The Specialist is accountable to use innovative and best practices in hiring such as pre-screening, on the job assessments, and alternatives to standard interviews. Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Services, it is essential to build and maintain networks and foster long-term relationships with applicants, hiring managers, professional bodies, and post-secondary Institutions.
Primary Accountabilities
In this newly created role, you will work closely with the leadership team to lead the development of recruitment, hiring assessments, retention, and employee experience strategies. As the Hiring Specialist, you are responsible for the management of the full scope of hiring activities and contribute to the creation and implementation of innovative recruitment and hiring practices.
The Centralized Hiring Specialists will be responsible for carrying out innovative hiring for all positions within SNS. This approach is meant to decrease inherent bias and make SNS a welcoming, attainable employer of equity-deserving professionals. A clear understanding of what it means to be an equitable, diverse, inclusive, and accessible employer is fundamental to the work you do and employees we hire.
In this role, you are a key player in developing, implementing, and utilizing a strategic process for recruitment and hiring, and will work in collaboration with the Public Service Commission’s Talent Acquisition team. You will communicate with the Executive team on the measurement, progress, successes, and challenges of this new approach to hiring within the Department.
Qualifications And Experience
To be successful in this role, you have completed post secondary education in a related degree and have several years of experience with recruitment, hiring and human resources activities. Additional Information
This is a TERM employment opportunity with anticipated end date of September 30, 2025. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.
What We Offer
Pay Grade: EC 10
Salary Range: $2,943.75 – $3,679.70 Bi-Weekly
