About Our Opportunity
Reporting to the Supervisor of Client Relations, Public Safety and Field Communications (PSFC), the Training Officer will be responsible for the development and delivery of high quality, technical and operational training materials to radio-communications users across Nova Scotia, including in-person and online training materials, handouts, videos, and other media. The officer will be responsible for delivery of training on two discrete radio systems (the Nova Scotia Integrated Mobile Radio System, and the Trunked Mobile Radio System) to users at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels of government, as well as to certain commercial enterprises responsible for supporting public safety response. Overall, this represents an estimated 20,000 radio users across three systems, at all levels of government. The Officer will manage all provincial radio training equipment, as well as the training schedule.
The content and quality of training must be of the highest caliber. The Training Officer must be a technical expert in the complex systems being taught, and be able to answer questions effectively.
About You
You must have experience with and an understanding of mobile radio technology, along with strong oral and written communications skills, and be able to work effectively to build relationships with others. Must have good organization and planning skills relating to scheduling, and possess deductive reasoning skills and be able to analyze and synthesize information for problem solving. You have a high level of personal commitment to working with diverse clientele and colleagues.
Qualifications And Experience
You possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and at least one year of full time experience (or equivalent) covering at minimum the following areas:
ICS 100 certification is a requirement.

Pay Grade: PR 06 – PR 10
Salary Range: $1,915.37 – $2,746.69 Bi-Weekly
