The Ministry of Parks, Culture, and Sport’s mission is to enhance economic growth and support quality of life by managing the provincial parks system and providing recreation, sport, heritage and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors. The Ministry is currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to provide clerical/secretarial support to the Park Administrative Supervisor and provide extensive customer service to clients and park visitors.
As a front-line staff member, you will have strong communication and customer service skills in order to provide information to clients and park visitors in person, over the phone and via email. Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures is required in order to process park revenue. The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of office and administrative procedures, coupled with a working-level knowledge in word processing, electronic mail systems and spreadsheets.
In order to be successful in the position, you will have the ability to respond accurately and courteously to inquiries, calm upset customers and respond to their concerns. You will be required to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, answering machines, and point-of-sale systems. You will be reliable and trustworthy, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team under tight deadlines.
The successful candidate must possess a current and valid driver’s license.
