The Communication and Client Service Branch within the Ministry of Environment is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual to fill a term position as Director of Customer Services. This position will be responsible for:

• Leading the day-to-day operations – from a business perspective – of the ministry’s Public Inquiries Project, which is being undertaken to improve the customer service the ministry provides to clients, stakeholders and the public.
• Providing support on project-related business decisions, communications and organizational change management strategies, planning and implementation.
• Cultivating and managing client and stakeholder relationships to achieve cooperation and consensus and timely project delivery, ensuring clarity of business objectives, outcomes and resources.
• Maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure needs are proactively identified, collaboratively addressed and that issues are identified and effectively supported.
• Strategically developing opportunities to improve customer service delivery provided by the ministry.

The ideal candidate for this position will:

• Be able to deliver effective customer service to Ministry of Environment clients and stakeholders.
• Have the ability to manage a team of customer service professionals and a large-scale project to transform the ministry’s response to public inquiries.
• Be able to lead strategic initiatives, effectively manage change and achieve positive results.
• Be proficient in communicating information, analysis and advice to senior officials.
• Have the ability to comprehend and contribute to ministry goals as they relate to government’s strategic direction,
• Be able to consistently demonstrate leadership, collaboration and a commitment to excellence within the ministry and across government.
• Possess the ability to recognize, address and manage sensitive and shifting priorities will be key to ensuring a range of successful outcomes for the ministry.

Typically, the knowledge, skills and experience required for this position would have been obtained through a degree in Journalism or Communications, Marketing, Business Administration/Commerce or a related discipline with leadership and government experience.
