The Student Achievement and Supports Branch is seeking two Education Consultants for permanent full-time positions.
As an Education Consultant, you will be a highly motivated educator with extensive knowledge of Saskatchewan curriculum.
Reporting to the Director of the Curriculum Unit, this position is responsible for:
developing, renewing and implementing curricula from Grade 1 to Grade 12;
providing curriculum support to school divisions;
conducting research in content areas, effective learning practices and curriculum philosophy and design;
organizing and managing multiple projects; and,
liaising and collaborating with the public, organizations, agencies, other departments, branches and department staff to obtain, exchange and confirm information and make informed decisions that reflect educational goals and perspectives.
The successful candidate will:
be a self-starter who is positive and confident in their approach to new concepts and tasks, thorough, conscientious and attentive to detail and flexible in order to cope with ongoing changing demands in the workplace;
establish and enhance partnerships with various educational stakeholders and will provide leadership to existing partnerships in promoting curricula in Saskatchewan;
demonstrate evidence of strong facilitation and consensus building skills; and,
have experience teaching in varied settings, grade levels and subjects.
Typically, the knowledge and skills listed below are acquired through:
Professional A teaching certificate and a minimum of 5 years recent teaching experience.
A Masters of Education in a related area will be an asset.
Fluency in both official languages is an asset.
Teaching experience in physical education, health education, science and/or arts education is an asset.
The start date for the position will be summer 2022.
The work location could be in Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert or La Ronge.
Some travel is required.
