The Parks Division is currently seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Administrative Supervisor for Blackstrap Provincial Park within the Parks Division.
Reporting to the Park Manager, this position is an integral member of the Park Management team and is responsible for:
carrying out all aspects of administrative duties within the provincial park, including operation of the park office;
support and guidance to management and park staff including coordination and execution of financial and procurement processes;
supervision of the administration and customer service staff including recruitment and staffing;
scheduling, prioritizing work, work assignments and performance evaluation;
analyzing, interpreting and resolving a wide variety of inquiries from internal and external clients; and
ensuring adherence to applicable Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport (PCS), Ministry of Environment (MOE), Financial Administrative Manual (FAM) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate is expected to:
be an experienced supervisor with ability to manage and delegate responsibilities to staff in a professional manner;
have knowledge of a various of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office, automated reservation systems, and be familiar with online financial and asset management systems;
have knowledge of office and administration procedures and protocols, office equipment, handling of cash and basic accounting principles; and
hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence;
be willing to travel on an occasional basis; and
be available to work occasional weekends, evenings or statutory holidays.
Typically, the knowledge and experience required for this position is obtained through the completion of an office diploma program or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of:
Human resource principles and practices which includes supervision, staffing, performance evaluation, coaching and counselling;
Budget preparation, expenditures and fiscal forecasting processes and procedures;
Basic accounting, financial principles, procedures and practices, including cash-handling skills;
Office management and administrative procedures and protocols; and
Various computer software programs such as Microsoft Office, automated reservation systems, and online financial and asset management systems.
The successful candidate will have the ability to:

Create, format and edit a variety of visually pleasing, clear and presentable documents using various software applications/packages within required/reasonable timeframes;
Accurately and concisely compose, record, proofread and/or edit a variety of correspondence;
Identify, clarify and analyze relevant issues, concerns or problems in order to provide options/recommendations or to implement solutions in a timely manner;
Work independently and/or as a contributing member of a variety of teams to complete work assignments, achieve common goals and contribute towards a positive work environment;
Independently organize and prioritize multiple tasks taking into consideration changing priorities and tight deadlines; and
Provide exceptional customer service to co-workers, colleagues and park visitors.
