Government of Saskatchewan Looking for Project Consultant, Office of Planning, Performance and Improvement at Regina, SK Full Time

The Office of Planning, Performance and Improvement (OPPI) in the Ministry of Finance has an exciting project consulting opportunity for a passionate, strategic thinker that has experience across a variety of leadership and operational practices, including strategy, planning, continuous improvement, and project execution.

In this unique role, you will:

• execute enterprise projects that support the continued development and implementation of an integrated Government of Saskatchewan Accountability Framework, the Planning and Accountability Management System (PAMS); and
• work as a partner with planning and improvement practitioners across executive government to coordinate and deliver customized services that are focused on outcomes and facilitate decision making.

Daily, you will be responsible for:

• building strong and collaborative relationships with clients and teams;
• offering flexible customer service to gather needs and build capacity through diverse approaches such as coaching, workshops, co-facilitation, and networking;
• supporting customers with a One Team approach to planning, innovation and improvement work that involves multiple organizations;
• providing ongoing advice and guidance to clients on both strategic and operational tasks;
• working collaboratively with the OPPI team;
• using written and verbal communications skills to develop a variety of materials, including presentations, project work plans, guidelines, templates, etc.; and
• supporting the Director, Executive Director, and Assistant Deputy Minister of OPPI to provide strategic advice to, and implement direction of, senior decision makers.

To be successful in this position, you will:

• demonstrate the ability to work independently and with a team to deliver results, often under tight timelines;
• have a calm and professional approach to your work, taking initiative to perform research, exercising sound judgment in your analysis, and effectively communicating your recommendations to senior officials; and
• be an excellent communicator, demonstrate customer service excellence, and be able to adapt and lead through diverse situations and broad content areas.

Typically, these skills would be achieved through completion of a post-graduate degree in Commerce, Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. Preference would be given to candidates with post graduate education in a related field. Planning, project management, change management, or other continuous improvement certifications would be considered an asset.
