The Opportunity
PEBA administers various pension plans and benefit programs with over $15B in pension and benefit assets. Overall, PEBA represents approximately 95,000 pension plan members and benefit plan members, and operates within a $30M administrative budget.
PEBA is seeking an experienced individual to perform key operational duties to support the investment platforms administered by PEBA as a Valuation Accountant. This position will be part of a team reporting to the Director, Investment Operations within Investment Services. As a member of the Investment Services branch, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the daily unitized values for the Public Employees Pension Plan (PEPP) are correct and complete through entry, review and/or validation of work performed by others on the team.
This position will be responsible for:
reconciling investment holdings and values to the Plans’ custodian and investment managers;
invoice receipt, validation and payment of investment related fees;
cash flow management for derivative and private market investments by completing transfer and trade instructions; and
communicating with a broad audience of internal and external professionals including members of the investments industry.
This position will work outside of normal hours of business as required when plan specific or broader financial market events necessitate it.
Ideal Candidate
Typically, the successful candidate will have an accounting designation or degree along with experience working in the pension investment area.
