POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The primary function of the Transportation Operations Analyst is to develop and maintain supplier and carrier analysis and reporting tools to support information, measurement, and certification programs. This position will work closely with suppliers and service providers (Cross docks and carriers) to ensure they meet AGI compliance and regulatory requirements. A key objective is to improve DC inbound flow. This role will serve as the main point of contact for our US cross dock and will also involve processing carrier claims and resolving non-approved carrier invoices.

Enforce Acklands-Grainger Canadian and US Shipping & Routing Guide requirements with all collect suppliers.
Support the Canadian and US cross dock teams with all supplier and carrier non-compliance issues.
Process Acklands-Grainger claims in a timely manner for the Transportation Department.
Enforce carrier non-compliance and hold suppliers accountable for non-approved freight invoices.
Provide freight quotes.
Respond to AGI Traffic mailbox emails.
Execute and communicate change control when supplier information/compliance varies from desired state.
Maintain processes to ensure supplier performance to company and customer specifications.
Participate in problem solving teams addressing non-conformance.
Perform on-site process audits to certify supplier information/conformance processes.
Develop ad-hoc reports providing management planning tools.
Consult and train product teams on supplier process development to gain better efficiencies through improved processes, which will lead to improved profitability and GP.
Communicate with suppliers, carriers, service providers and other AGI Departments via phone and email.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree or equivalent preferred.
3-5 years of experience related in this field preferred.
Ability to foster, manage and leverage relationships at varying levels internally & externally.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills that foster collaboration within team, with business partners and with cross-functional teams.
Ability to follow-up consistently with suppliers, carriers, service providers and other departments.
Analytical, conceptual, problem solving and capacity to utilize statistical methods and develop statistical expertise.
Visualize, conceptualize, and actualize new concepts, systems, tools, and programs.
Strong problem solving skills and must be comfortable dealing with push-back from suppliers and carriers.
Ability to inspire the cooperation and confidence of others with developing potential of strong negotiating, influence, and persuasion skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to excel in interfacing and facilitating meetings with all levels of the Supplier and AGI organization, in addition to upper management levels.
Experience with packaging and the distribution environment.
Detail oriented organizational skills and strong attention to details.
Must be able to listen to and manage conflict/disagreement and focus differences of opinion in purposeful directions.
Leadership skills that include acting as a change agent.
