Located in Berwick, we are one hour from Halifax and minutes away from the highest tides

in the world. Work with us as we plan for our new state of the art facility scheduled to open

in 2025.

Grandview is a not for profit home known to support our community through our commitment to

quality care and innovative support for both clients and our interdisciplinary team. In our 142

bed facility, care is provided in an enriched housing, an assisted living, and a nursing home

setting

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Director of Finance to join our senior management team. Reporting directly to

the CEO, the Finance Director is responsible for all financial operations for the organization.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• direction and supervision of accounting staff in the finance department
• preparation and review of monthly financial statements with CEO
• preparation and presentation of quarterly financial reports to Board of Directors
• preparation and update of operating and capital budgets
• reconciliation and analyses of general ledger accounts, preparation of financial reports to

facilitate management decision-making

• co-ordination of the annual external financial audit with the appointed auditor
• implementation and monitoring of internal controls to safeguard the assets of the

organization

• negotiation and interpretation of collective agreements
• management of the insurance portfolio and ensuring adequate coverage
• preparation and review of annual financial reports for the Grand View Manor Seniors

Foundation

Qualifications:

• bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, finance or another relevant program.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• minimum of 5 years management and supervisory experience is required.
• the ideal candidate will also possess exceptional skills in written and verbal

communication, computer and financial systems as well as experience with accounting

in a non-profit organization.

• experience using Sage 300 software is required.
