Grange Winery Looking for Tasting Room Associate at Prince Edward, ON Full Time

Grange Winery in Prince Edward County, ON is looking for 3 part-time tasting room associates to join our team. We are located at 990 Closson Road. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and hard-working.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete training as assigned by management. *Maintain necessary Smartserve compliance and carry card at all times *Keep up to date on shifts using online scheduling software.
• Check in with the Tasting Room Manager or Team Lead at the beginning of shift for daily tasks/station assignments. *Follow directions on cleaning of the space before and after shift. This could include sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down sinks, urinals, toilets and toilet seats, cleaning countertops and tables, cleaning out refrigerators, scraping food off customer plates and consolidating recycling and garbage bins. *Maintain a clean and sanitized bar area, frequently washing and polishing glasses, and wiping surfaces *Fill and face wine and retail stock *Follow inventory control measures, recording removal of wine from the cellar according to written procedures. *Label and apply capsules to wine bottles as necessary
• Greet guests promptly in a warm and welcoming manner. *Describe wines, winemaking techniques, regional viticulture practices and winery history. *Pour wines according to established wine tasting procedures. *Suggest and sell wine, wine tasting experiences, wine clubs and non-wine merchandise. *Stay knowledgeable about our food options and be able to explain our menu. *Answer customer questions regarding merchandise and provide general tourist information. *Handle routine POS transactions, including operating cash registers and debit terminals. Process returns, discounts, employee purchases. *Conduct guided tours and guided tasting experiences as needed. *Stay current on winery/wine knowledge, menu features, and special events *Ensure customer compliance to all posted company policies and ground rules.

Qualifications

• Previous tasting room or customer service experience preferred, but not required *A love of wine and county tourism *Ability to stand for the duration of the shift *Ability to carry a case of wine (40lbs) up a flight of stairs

Wage

• $17.95 base wage + pooled tips *Paid lunch break (when working a shift longer than 5 hours) *Discounts on non-wine merchandise and food
