POSITION OVERVIEW (Purpose):

The management team has overseen development across several asset classes including for-sale residential, seniors housing, office, retail, and industrial, providing Graywood with first-class depth and breadth of experience.
The Corporate Accountant will report to the Assistant Corporate Controller and will be responsible for preparing complete, accurate, and timely financial information for the Graywood corporate entities and the real estate development funds that Graywood maintains.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist with corporate/fund financial accounting (ASPE or IFRS, as applicable).
- Assist with budget and cost variance analysis on overall impact to corporate budget with understanding of key issues and drivers.
- Weekly cash reconciliations and preparation of cash position reports for Graywood and its funds
- Assist with regular month-end processes (account recs, bank recs, prepaids, deposits, AR, etc.) and extract data for analysis.
- Assist with monthly intercompany reconciliation of fees and receivables to be collected from various Graywood funds and projects; work with Project Accountants to regularly settle outstanding amounts.
- Assist with management of corporate and fund payables; responsibilities include (but not limited to) invoice approvals, entering invoices into accounting system, preparing EFT lists, and applying payments.
- Filing of monthly and quarterly HST remittances
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as required.
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education (include any required designations):
- Undergraduate degree in business or other related discipline
- Strong accounting and finance skills
- Skilled in using Excel at an advanced level
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage and deliver on multiple priorities and projects at any given time.
