FULL-TIME GENERAL MAINTENANCE

Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands is currently looking for a hands-on professional general maintenance team member who will be acting under the direction of the Facilities Manager. A general maintenance team member will be required to perform installations, repairs, and replacements for the entire Casino. You will be responsible for keeping our Casino in top-notch condition.
Other responsibilities include:
Maintains life safety systems such as fire alarms, emergency power, sprinklers, etc.
Performs active or preventative maintenance on all building systems as directed
Maintains parts and equipment inventories; anticipates requirements; submits order requests to manager
Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
Maintaining a high level of professionalism while providing exceptional guest service at all points of contact
Builds strong working relationships with guests and employees
Complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:
High School Diploma
Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial maintenance including mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, network cabling and termination, drywall repairs, painting, furniture repairs, general facility repairs
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel when required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Smart Serve Certification
Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service oriented communication
Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and be available for emergency call-in when required. The hours of work will be based on operational and business needs.
Other – Successful candidate must have:
Ability to obtain and maintain Gaming Assistant Registration through the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO)
