Job Summary
LOCATION : Administration Building
POSITION : Payroll Clerk
HOURS OF WORK : 35 hours per week
START DATE : As soon as possible
Nature & Scope Of Position
Performs clerical/secretarial tasks including maintaining confidential payroll records and
processing computerized payroll system.
Importing, processing and reconciling electronic timesheets.
Analyze pay reports each pay run.
Calculating salary, overtime and retro amounts owing.
Manage payroll deductions and applicable remittances.
Perform payroll accounting duties in the accumulating, recording, and processing of data for
payroll.
Prepare Records of Employment.
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Payroll.

Qualifications
3 year community college diploma with business emphasis and a minimum of 3 years previous payroll experience in an automated environment (or experience deemed acceptable by GECDSB)
OR
A private career college certificate with accounting/payroll emphasis, a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certificate and a minimum of 4 years of payroll experience in an automated environment (or experience deemed acceptable by GECDSB)
Familiarity with employment/payroll legislation within the last ten years is considered an asset.
Knowledge of IPPS is considered an asset.
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications are considered an asset.
