We are a Licensed Holder under the Cannabis Act, seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Financial Accountant/Analyst.
GREENSEAL CANNABIS CO. is a licensed producer of cannabis, operating out of a 28,000 square foot purpose-built facility in Stratford, Ontario. GreenSeal’s focus is on developing a premium quality medical grade product through its innovative growing methods, technology, breeding practices, and partnerships.
Working closely with the President, the Financial Accountant/Analyst will participate in the development and support the company’s strategic plans, monitor the financial performance of the company, deal with day to day operations, inventory, regulatory liaison and reporting, and compile/analyze financial reports.
Responsibilities:
- Annual, quarterly, and monthly reporting as required by government and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
- Protect assets by establishing and monitoring internal controls.
- Keep up to date on day to day operations of AR, AP, invoicing, etc.
- Required to communicate with all identified stakeholders.
- Responsible for learning key regulations/requirements, with guidance and coaching from senior team members.
- High-level financial reporting and analysis.
- Cash flow management.
- Budgeting as required.
- Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
- Develop processes to ensure all intercompany balances reconcile.
- Demonstrate self direction, accountability.
- Improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Provide support to other staff.
- Monitor financial conditions by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
- Inventory support and monitoring
- Monitor and ensure proper insurance levels
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Accounting designation (CA, CPA, CGA) or current pursuit of designation is an asset.
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance related discipline.
- 2-4 years experience.
- Exposure to accounting for Agriculture and Biological Assets is a plus.
- Impeccable analytical and organization skills.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks.
- Self motivated and self directed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work closely with senior management.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Availability to work extra hours as needed.
- Ability to adapt to changing business environments.
- Strong concentration over prolonged periods of time.
