Griffith Foods Looking for Industrial Electrician – NIGHT SHIFT at Toronto, ON Full Time

Griffith Foods is a global manufacturer of food products. We provide a wide range of taste and texture components for food industry customers throughout the world. Our products include seasoning blends, dry mixes, coating systems, dough blends, crumbs, flavors, sauces and food bases that are used in an extensive variety of application from snack foods and processed meat and poultry to ready meals. Our customers include food processors, restaurant operators and grocery retailers. Major Responsibilities:

• Reports directly to the Team Leader, Maintenance of Griffith Laboratories Canada on an ongoing basis and communicates all relevant matters pertaining to operations.
• Performs extensive troubleshooting of packaging and processing equipment. Detects errors and problems that limit performance of equipment.
• Displays intensive knowledge of plant equipment in order to effectively respond to equipment breakdown and repairs.
• Responds promptly to equipment failure in order to reduce company’s downtime.
• Performs minor and major construction work, relocates machinery (electrical), builds control panels, and modifies the systems.
• Performs daily visual checkups of microwave, tunnels, low voltage cabinet, high voltage cabinet, water chiller, and water-cooling system.
• Responsible for dryers and areas used for baking.
• Knowledge of and adherent to all health and safety and GMP rules.
• Maintains good housekeeping in area of work by cleaning work area after each job is completed.
• Uses computer terminals to download and upload programs.
• Performs changeovers and sets up production equipment.
• Ensures all work is performed in a safe and timely manner, paying special attention to hazards to which production personnel may be susceptible.
• Ensures the health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment.
• Ensures compliance with all product safety, legality and quality requirements.
• Understands and follows all HACCP, BRC and Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
• Ensures a proper hand over is done at the end of each shift.
• Understands and complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Participates in special projects, other duties or tasks that may be assigned as required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Specialized training in a recognized Community College program (3-year Community College Program or equivalent).
• Three years of work experience required

Possession of Industrial Electrician certificate-309A OR 442A (or both)
