Griffith Foods Looking for Logistics Coordinator at Toronto, ON Full Time

Griffith Foods is a global manufacturer of food products. We provide a wide range of taste and texture components for food industry customers throughout the world. Our products include seasoning blends, dry mixes, coating systems, dough blends, crumbs, flavors, sauces and food bases that are used in an extensive variety of application from snack foods and processed meat and poultry to ready meals. Our customers include food processors, restaurant operators and grocery retailers. Summary:
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this role will coordinate logistics and inventory movements to and from the contracted 3PL warehouse providers to ensure effective and efficient use of outsourced distribution resources.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate activity between plant, internal warehouses, customer service, and 3PL operators to optimize cost and service objectives
• Create and manage transfer orders and documentation between internal and 3PL warehouses on a daily basis
• Effectively manage carriers and movement of inventory. Perform daily reconciliation of inventory records to ensure accuracy between 3PL and Griffith records
• Monitor and analyze 3PL performance metrics, recommending improvement or corrective action
• Monitor, measure, and report on the efficiency of 3PL transportation performance such as meeting sailing schedules, on time deliveries, carrier damage, and customer complaints involving shipping
• Perform periodic transportation audits to include freight rate application, mileage, fuel surcharges and accessorial charges to ensure accuracy of charges against standard and budget.
• Perform daily review of pending shipping orders to ensure they are being shipped in a complete and timely manner.
• Conduct investigations of problems or issues and make recommendations for corrective actions.
• Monitor 3PL order accuracy and fill rates, disposal certificates, reviewing weekly inventory reports involving SKUs, movement, inventory accuracy, and order status per 3PL location. Coordinate the building of full truckloads when possible.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma. College diploma in Business or Supply Chain is preferred
• 2-5 years’ warehouse or logistics management experience or equivalent
• Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
