Job Description: Civil Construction Skilled Labourer
Location: Fort St. John, BC
Start Date: ASAP
Position: Local (No remote work or relocation assistance)
We are seeking skilled labourers with experience in civil construction to join our team in Fort St. John, BC. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, reliable, and possess a strong work ethic, coupled with a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the execution of construction tasks and activities as directed by site supervisors and foremen.
- Handle and transport materials and equipment to and from the worksite.
- Operate a variety of tools and equipment safely, such as jackhammers, drills, compactors, and other construction machinery.
- Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction.
- Understand and adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for all team members.
- Assist in setting up and tearing down temporary structures, such as barricades and safety cones.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in civil construction or a related field.
- Familiarity with tools, equipment, and machinery common to the construction industry.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods, and perform strenuous physical labor.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions – hot, cold, wet, and dry.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven track record of reliability and punctuality.
