Industry District Sales Manager- MN, ND, SD, MT (US) & MB, ON, NU (CA) Territory, Remote

What is the job about?
The District Sales Manager’s (DSM) main purpose is to grow sales of Grundfos products in their Area of Primary Responsibility (APR) by defining, measuring, analyzing, improving and controlling the key activities that will lead to increased sales to end users, contractors and OEMs. The territory identified for this position will be Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana in the USA as well as Manitoba, Western Ontario and Nunavut in Canada. The DSM will work to make Key Decision Makers (KDMs) aware of Grundfos products & their benefits and maintain & manage a network of distributors. As part of the job, the DSM is responsible for developing, executing and maintaining a territory growth plan with the goal to increase Grundfos market share within the industrial market.
Your main responsibilities:
Selling: The DSM is responsible for facilitating the sale of Grundfos products to end users, contractors & OEMs. The DSM will provide guidance & support to their distributors in an effort to maintain existing business & grow new business. The DSM will work with, and independently of, their distributors to form / grow relationships with Key Decision Makers (KDMs), such as end users, engineering firms, contractors, etc. The goal of forming / growing their relationships with KDMs is to make them aware of, and influence them to purchase, Grundfos products. The DSM will utilize Grundfos processes & sales process, Grundfos sales programs, etc. as part of their sales efforts.
Territory Planning / Channel Development: The DSM will continually develop knowledge of the industrial business climate, industry types, KDMs, applications and competition in their defined APR. The DSM will develop, maintain and implement a territory growth plan. The DSM will continually assess current Grundfos industrial distribution, develop and evaluate their performance and work to ensure proper coverage of / relationships with all KDMs in their APR. The DSM will manage all conflict across sales channels, or Grundfos business units, in an effort to do what’s best for Grundfos, in line with the Grundfos culture.
Training / Mentoring: The DSM will provide / facilitate training on Grundfos products & applications, Grundfos online tools & processes, Grundfos sales tools and Grundfos sales processes, including Value Selling, to their distributors.
Reporting / Time Management: The DSM will input & maintain data in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system relative to their distributors, activities and sales opportunities. The DSM will document key sales calls, phone calls, online activities, etc. and sales opportunities in CRM. The DSM will maintain an acceptable to Grundfos Face Time percentage, based on the Grundfos Face Time percentage requirement & as documented by the activities that they enter in CRM. The DSM will maintain CRM opportunities in a manner that all of their CRM opportunities are “OK” from an information being complete & current perspective. The DSM will maintain their Outlook calendar to include planned activities, at a minimum of (30) days out. The DSM will report their expenses using the Grundfos expense reporting process. The DSM should consistently complete tasks in a timely manner.
Your background
We imagine that you have:
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
A minimum of 3 years experience both with pumps and industrial distribution.
The ability to form a good relationship at all levels within their distributors and influence the distributors to spend an acceptable to Grundfos amount of time promoting & selling Grundfos products.
Product & application knowledge: Understand the features & benefits and applications of Grundfos products as documented with ongoing conversations with the Regional Sales Manager & others
The ability to operate remotely from a home office.
A willingness to travel up to 50% overnight if necessary. As a result, candidates should be able to maintain valid identification and a valid passport.
