We are looking for a Finance Manager to cover a 6-month maternity leave and support our North American team, in this 100% remote role.
Reporting to the head of Finance in the UK, the Finance Manager will work collaboratively in leading the full cycle accounting process for North America. Namely, you will:
- Ensure the completion of the monthly management accounts for CA and US to a pre-agreed month end timetable with backing schedules and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Responsible for month end journal entries
- Responsible for ensuring that all invoicing is sent out on a timely basis to maximize cash flow.
- Reconcile billing numbers to invoicing numbers on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy.
- Posting of all payments with supporting documentation ensuring that all items are wholly, exclusively and necessarily for the purposes of the business.
- Ensure all receipts have been processed on a timely basis and have been allocated correctly.
- Implement internal controls where necessary; e.g ensure sign offs and controls appropriate with the size of the business.
- Responsible for running and maintaining payroll with our outsourced payroll provider.
- Communicate with our accountant’s (CA and US) to ensure all statutory compliance obligations are met and any issues are highlighted.
- Ensure that all filings are made accurately and on time.
- Communicate with customers and respond to any billing or invoicing related queries.
- Others: Stock and inventory control, collections, providing information for grant applications as needed.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of full cycle accounting experience with exposure to US accounting principles as well as:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with accounting software (experience with Xero would be of benefits)
- Ability to work cross functionally and collaboratively
- Exceptional communicating skills
- Proven ability to take initiative and have a bias for action
- CPA or relevant certification is an asset.
